My Fake World

Look around you. Count the things around you that are not manufactured. I can count one thing and that is my hands. Everything else around me was manufactured for profit. Most of it probably made by a corporation. Some of it made by cheap labor in some 3rd world country. Have you ever stopped and wondered how much of the world around you is manufactured? Even driving down the street, or walking, much of what you see is made for profit. Even the trees that are growing, most of them grown and planted for profit... engineered. Even our food these days are altered. We are in a type of Matrix (reference to the idea in the movie). Mostly dominated by corporations who only care about profits, not actual people. Our world is fake. At least in the United States. Am I wrong? What is real?

You know I didn't start thinking about this until you mentioned this to me. Which scares me even more than this fake world we live in. But what it really made me think of was nature and how much we are not close to nature anymore. We do mostly everything inside little boxes and completely forget about the world outside that is not man made. And as we consume and waste more and more, I believe we get farther and farther from nature, and what I think reality is. We are too rapt up in claiming borders and decorating our houses.
